ACLAiM specializes solely in the administration of civil law suits brought as a result of criminal acts committed in relation to the retailer's property. ACLAiM utilizes a variety of key personnel from the legal profession, law enforcement, retail loss prevention and court administration. By following ACLAiM's procedures our clients now recover a portion of their loss prevention costs.

WHAT IS CIVIL RECOVERY?

The recovery of monetary losses incurred as a result of theft, fraud, damage, trespass or other criminal behavior committed on or in relation to the retailer's property, using the civil court process.

IS THIS NEW?

ACLAiM brought civil recovery to Canada in 1993 as a new program. However, civil recovery has been operating successfully in the United States for over twenty years.

DID YOU KNOW?

Retailers in Canada currently lose $2.5 billion per year, or $7 million per day, as a direct result of internal and external theft. This amount is a direct loss and does not include various other costs including wages, security equipment, administration, training of investigators and sales associates and costs to support the justice system.
